Tony Roots :
Born and raised in the Mandeville area, on the island of Jamaica, Tony Roots aka "The Reggae Soldier" went to the same school as Luciano. Other near artists included Garnett Silk, Tony Rebel and Everton Blender, but Tony Roots himself left JA for England a dozen years or so ago. Although many singers have influenced him, Bob Marley, Dennis Brown and Bunny Wailer are the ones that influenced him most. In the space of a few months - in the years 1999/2000 - Tony Roots has released two strong UK roots albums : "Not Far Away" and "Sufferer's Cry".
