Slim Smith :
Slim Smith, born 1948 in Jamaica, started out in the early 60s as a founding member of The Techniques, before joining the ranks of producer Coxsone dodd, cutting some notable sides collected on the classic 'Born To Love' set. The end of the 60s saw him working for Bunny Lee, both as a solo artist and as a member of The Uniques, scoring with the memorable 'My Conversation'. Due to personal problems he committed suicide in 1973. A tragic loss for reggae music !
