General Echo :
Ranking Slackness, better known as General Echo set up his own sound system, Echo Tone Hi Fi, and became extremely popular because of his preference for slackness and his typical vocal delivery. Under the supervision of Winston Riley, he succesfully versioned the 'Stalag 17' riddim, retitling it 'Arleen'. The song stayed in the charts for weeks. Shortly after the release of his '12 Inches Of Pleasure' set he was shot dead by the police in 1980.
