Dub :
Take away the lead vocal and harmonies and you are left with the root and foundation of reggae music, raw earth-shattering DUB. While historically, the flip side of 7" single releases provided the dub or "version" with a spattering of the vocal track, dub is today being parceled on its own and a greater number of dub CD releases are appearing. Once upon a time dub was played primarily as the backdrop for those who wished to utilize their singing and deejaying/toasting skills in the dancehalls, but today more and more reggae fans are sitting back and listening to hours of nerve-tingling and heart-pounding instrumental dub.
