Alpha Blondy :
Born in the Ivory Coast, Alpha Blondy - which means First Bandit - became one of the most successful African artists to perform reggae music. From the mid-eighties on he gained a large amount of devoted fans for his music which meant that he got his name written in capital letters, not only in West Africa but all over the world. His mostly militant, protest lyrics are delivered in English, French as well as the Dioula language.
